How to spot real Kashmiri saffron
- Color: Deep crimson with darker tips and slightly lighter ends. Not bright orange or uniform red.
- Bloom test: Real saffron stains warm water deep amber-gold over 10–15 minutes. Fakes either color instantly (dyes) or never properly (turmeric, marigold).
- Smell: Honey and hay with a faint metallic note. Not sweet or musky.
- Documentation:Demand a Batch ID and a COA. If a seller can't produce one, that's your answer.
