The story

Origin & harvest

When you cook with saffron regularly — for family dinners, catering, meal prep, or daily wellness rituals — buying in smaller quantities gets expensive fast. Our 5g bulk jar brings the same certified Pampore-origin saffron threads into a format that makes sense for those who use it seriously. Every gram carries the same Batch ID, the same COA, and the same Grade I certification as our 1g jar.

In your kitchen

Sensory & uses

At the scale of 5 grams, you have approximately 2,250–2,500 threads — enough for roughly 375–500 individual recipe uses. At this volume, saffron stops being a 'special occasion' spice and becomes a staple: weekly saffron milk, consistent biryani perfection, pastry programs, Persian rice every Friday night.

Documented proof

Authenticity & lab testing

The bulk jar is sealed with the same tamper-evident mechanism as our smaller sizes. The Batch ID on the label links to a public COA. For wholesale or restaurant inquiries, contact us for our bulk COA documentation package, which includes additional heavy metals and microbiological testing panels.

How to bloom saffron

Four steps to release color and flavor

  1. 1

    Measure

Place 5–8 threads in a small bowl or ramekin.

  2. 2

    Warm — not boil

Add 2 tablespoons of warm water (60–70°C / 140–160°F). Boiling water degrades flavor compounds.

  3. 3

    Steep

Let steep for 10–20 minutes. The liquid will turn deep amber-gold.

  4. 4

    Add it all

Add liquid and threads to your dish. Don't discard the steeping liquid — every drop carries color.

Tip: For maximum color, lightly crush threads between your fingers before blooming.
